Heck Yes!

Gathering feedback from your guests is key to improving future events and creating an experience they’ll want to return to. Surveys should be quick, easy, and engaging to encourage participation. Use multiple-choice options like “check all that apply,” a 1-5 rating scale, or simple “likely/unlikely” questions to streamline responses.

Want to boost participation? It may be worth hosting a giveaway for everyone who completes a survey. Pro tip: Have the enter-to-win form be on a separate landing page so respondents are honest on your survey instead of “feeling bad” for giving their opinion that you did ask for (for better or worse).

This survey could be sent out after each show to your newsletter audience and/or on social media.

Using MailChimp to Send Your Survey

MailChimp is a great tool for email marketing and sending/tracking event surveys. Here’s how to use it effectively:

  • Segment Your Audience – Send the survey to event attendees only, ensuring relevant responses
  • Automate Follow-Ups – If someone doesn’t complete the survey, set up an automatic reminder email
  • Personalize Your Message – Use MailChimp’s merge tags to include attendees’ names and event details for a more engaging email.
  • Track Results in Real-Time – MailChimp’s analytics help you see open rates, engagement, and responses so you can adjust your strategy if needed.

By leveraging MailChimp, you can increase survey completion rates and gain valuable insights into your guests’ experiences.

Keep It Short & Relevant

If your survey responses are lagging – try editing down the number of questions to 10 or 15. What are the top most important things you need to know from your guests?

Key Demographics

At the end of your survey, consider adding a few optional demographic questions (age, gender, household income, etc.) to help you better understand your audience.
